Overview

HabitBank ("the App") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your choices.

Data We Collect

Account Information

When you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive your email address and display name. This is used to create and authenticate your account.

App Data

Your habits, habit logs, wish list items, categories, weekly goals, and preferences are stored securely in our cloud database (Supabase) to enable syncing across your devices. This data is associated with your account and is not shared with third parties.

Analytics (Optional)

If you enable "Share Analytics" in Settings, we collect anonymous usage data through PostHog to understand how the app is used and improve the experience. This includes:

• Feature usage patterns (e.g., which screens are visited)
• App events (e.g., habit logged, wish list item created)

Analytics data is not linked to your identity and can be disabled at any time in Settings → Share Analytics.

Crash Reports

We use Sentry to collect crash reports and performance data. This helps us identify and fix bugs. Crash data may include device type, OS version, and app state at the time of the crash. It is not linked to your identity.

Push Notifications

If you enable push notifications, your device token is stored to deliver habit reminders. You can disable notifications at any time in iOS Settings.

How We Use Your Data

• Account data: To authenticate you and sync your app data across devices
• App data: To provide the core app functionality (habit tracking, wish list, balance)
• Analytics: To improve the app experience (only if opted in)
• Crash reports: To identify and fix bugs
• Push notifications: To send habit reminders you've configured

Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

We use the following third-party services to operate the app:

• Supabase (database and authentication)
• PostHog (analytics, optional)
• Sentry (crash reporting)
• Firebase Cloud Messaging (push notifications)
• Google Sign-In (authentication)
• Apple Sign-In (authentication)

These services process data as necessary to provide their functionality, subject to their own privacy policies.

Data Retention

Your data is retained as long as your account is active. When you delete your account (Settings → Delete Account), all your data is permanently removed from our servers, including:

• Your user profile
• All habits, logs, wish list items, and categories
• Your authentication record

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your data (visible within the app)
• Delete your data and account at any time (Settings → Delete Account)
• Opt out of analytics (Settings → Share Analytics toggle)
• Disable push notifications (iOS Settings)

Children's Privacy

HabitBank is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance.
